Embark on a guided trekking adventure to Lashio, in North Eastern Shan State, a truly off the beaten path destination, where stunning landscapes, diverse ethnic minorities and plenty of adventure await intrepid travelers. The countryside surrounding Lashio is abundant with hidden natural beauty. During your adventure you will trek through verdant prime forests, paddle board on a tranquil lake, explore fascinating limestone caves and swim under jaw dropping waterfalls. You will also have the opportunity to observe and learn about the areas diverse ethnic tribes with visits to several minority villages in the Lashio region as well as overnight stays at Shan and Laho Villages.

In the morning, you will be picked up by your local guide from the location of your choice (hotel, airport etc) in Lashio. Our adventure starts with a 30min drive from Lashio into the surrounding hillside. We begin with a half day trek through the hilly Lashio countryside and arrive at a serene reservoir, an oasis surrounded by verdant greenery. Packed lunch will be served after which you can spend the rest of the day paddle boarding on the calm waters of the reservoir. In the afternoon we drive to a Laho Minority village, situated deep in the lush Shan countryside, where you will spend the night as guests of the village chief.

Wake up to the calls of roosters and village life and begin the day with a simple but hearty local breakfast. Afterwards, you can enjoy a leisurely walk around town, observing the locals starting their day. Expect a bit of attention, as you are one of the rare visitors here and surely the talk of the town. We then start the day off with a short 15 min hike to the beautiful Hidden Tiger Falls. We spend the first part of the day exploring the waterfalls, relaxing in the natural pools and cascades. Afterwards, we return to the village to clean up and say our farewells to our hosts. We then head off a hike through the picturesque countryside to a traditional Shan Village where we will spend the night.

After breakfast and saying our farewells to the hosts, we continue on a 45min drive from the village to what is surely one of the most beautiful nature spots in the region, Dark Horse Falls. After a snack in local tea shop and briefing, we take make a hike to the spectacular waterfall. This natural water park is at its best from December to May when currents are not too strong for swimming. The rest of the day we spend exploring hidden caverns and cascades and enjoy swimming in refreshing natural pools. Packed lunch will be served by the falls. In the late afternoon we head back to Lashio, to check in to your hotel. You can then rest and enjoy free time in the evening. The night market in the center of town is highly recommended.
